Active Play for 0-2 Years

After spending many years working with preschool aged children, Jodie shares her experience of moving into the 0 – 2 years room. Jodie highlights that early in her transition to working with this age group she was required to adapt her planned activities to suit the developmental needs of the children she was educating.

Jodie explains the importance of introducing fun physical experiences to babies and toddlers and draws upon the need to plan activities which expose children to a range of movements. Jodie demonstrates how she utilises spontaneous teaching moments to encourage movement, led by the children’s interests coupled with the importance of role-modelling enjoyment in movement to entice other children to participate.
