Munch & Move Staff Development Kit
The Munch & Move Staff Development Kit has been designed to support family day care service providers and early childhood education and care (ECEC) educators trained in the Munch & Move program with a practical, user-friendly tool to upskill all staff at their ECEC service in the Munch & Move program.
Upskilling all ECEC service staff and family day care educators in the Munch & Move program will ensure Munch & Move is embedded into the service’s everyday practices and program. This will ensure a ‘whole of service’ approach in the responsibility of promoting healthy eating and physical activity messages to the children attending the service and their families.
The Munch & Move Staff Development Kit consists of 7 training modules (Module 1: Program Overview, plus 6 key message modules). It is important that you start with Module 1: Program Overview as this will ensure your colleagues understand what the Munch & Move program is and why we need to embed Munch & Move in NSW ECEC services. You can then select any of the key message modules in the order that best meets the Munch & Move training needs of your service.
A user guide has been developed to explain how to use the Munch & Move Staff Development Kit.
Before you begin please download and print the following documents:
To be completed throughout each module and can be used to inform the services Quality Improvement Plan
To be completed at the end of each module to formally document your participation in the Munch & Move Staff Development Kit
The module presentations have been narrated and can be accessed below. There are activities throughout the modules to promote discussion and professional conversations with your colleagues.
If you would prefer to present the information in the below videos to your colleagues in person, you can download the presentation and presenter notes/transcripts by clicking the button below.

Once your service has completed all 7 modules please send the completed Record Of Completion document to your Munch & Move Support Officer.
An action plan template has been developed to help services identify and plan the steps involved in embedding the Munch & Move key messages. You can download the template below:
